Levan Shengelia is a native of the Republic of Georgia, where he began studying piano at the age of five. When he was 10 he was accepted to the School for Talented Musicians at Tbilisi State Conservatory. He eventually received his master's in piano performance from the Conservatory of Music in Tbilisi, Georgia. During his music studies Levan had a debut performance at Tbilisi State Opera House where he was named the best composer and performer of the year. Later he continued his studies in Hart School of Music at the University of Hartford, in West Hartford, Connecticut where he received his Artist Diploma in Composition.

After his extensive music education Levan started his teaching career at Miami Music Works as a piano teacher while at the same time acting as a head judge of a composition competition at Miami Date Community College. In parallel to his teaching career Levan worked as the pianist for the Children's Musical Theater in Hollandale, Florida. There he created compositions to go with the children’s performances.

Levan returned to Georgia where he embarked on a concert tour with an orchestra to perform in his country and neighboring countries. He performed at the Opera House, c onservatories of m usic and t heaters to packed crowds. In between appearances, he taught piano and composition to students from the neighboring towns and cities. Many were accepted to the Tbilisi State Conservatory of Music and Conservatories in other countries.

After the Russian invasion of Georgia Levan returned to the U.S. He is continuing as a teacher and composer, sharing the love a joy of music with his students - th e same joy he gets when he plays for an audience of a packed house or just for himself while unwinding from a hard days work.
