Kristen Randolph is from Austin, Texas and has been playing the violin for over fifteen years. She grew up participating in various classical chamber groups, playing in orchestras and was also a part of the UT String Project. Kristen moved to Brooklyn, NY to pursue a music degree at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music where she studied with Roumi Petrova and Masao Kawasaki. As a music student, Kristen performed with the Brooklyn College Orchestra, the brooklyn Symphony Orchestra and also participated in several small string ensembles (trios, quartets, Baroque quitet). It was in Brooklyn where she began to teach violin. Her teaching experiences in New York ranged from private lessons to group lessons of all ages.
Kristen has been teaching violin for six years now. Recently, she has relocated back to Texas and has been involved with chamber ensembles performing for weddings and has also played with the New Texas Symphony Orchestra in Dallas. Although Kristen has been a classically trained violinist, she has begun to study fiddle and is interested in exploring other genres of music and continuing her music education.
Music has allowed Kristen to travel and meet so many interesting people. She finds so much joy in creating and performing music, and enjoys spreading what she has learned with others. Kristen is very patient, passionate and excited about teaching, and finds great joy in working with both children and adults.
